You all know I try and take every advantage I can to travel thru This Inverted World. This journey takes me to the NOLA for a robotics conference (I'll post those pix next week). When we pulled up at the Pontchartrain Convention center I saw a river boat and got excited. Something about massive bodies of water excite the hell out of me. It's magnetic, drawing, serene, over powering all in the same moment. Over my lifetime I've experienced the wonder of Niagra Falls, fished in the Mississippi River, cruised the Gulf of Mexico and Norther Pacific Ocean and laid out in the beaches of the Atlantic. Well now it's Lake Pontchartrain's turn to host Inver The World and show me it's splendor. Lol. All I can say is "peaceful". the only noise comes from the tribes of seaguls frolicking from land to air. I couldn't help to think of how this peaceful mass of liquid was completely agitaded and enraged by the happenings of hurricane Katrina. Then I couldn't help but to think about how the rock barriers although laid seemlessy along the coast could do nothing to stop the fury of Mother Nature. At the moment I didn't have my Nikon with me so I just pulled out the trusty iPhone 5 and started snapping. |
