I currently reside in Midtown Memphis's Central Garden. On the edge of this historic district is a dilapidated structure that resembles something out of a scene from Game of Thrones. Well maybe not that elaborate. None the less there is an effin raggedy castle in Memphis. Urban Legend has it that Prince Mongo (Robert Hodges), a wealthy absentee Memphian, obsessed with running for mayor, owned the place. In the 80's he owned several clubs throughout the city and at one point turned the castle like mansion into a club with parties that are revered as if it was Studio 51. Because I am fascinated with the medieval time period the building constantly intrigues, yet the castle is run down with an old Winnebago and the shell of a jacuzzi tub in the drive way. I couldn't help but the think of all the shenanigans that could have gone on in the back of a mansion in Winnebago and a mobile jacuzzi, during club hours (-_-) . I've been in this area for nearly a decade now and have been patiently waiting for the right time to capture the Castle in the way that speaks to me, and today it snowed..... I stepped out into This Inverted World and this is what I saw. |
The firing of the synapse, the captured glimpse, digitally manifested, then posted.
